Christmas Joy!

It was the night before Christmas, and we gathered at the "ranch" to sing The Twelve Days Of Christmas and eat King Crab and Filet Mignon.  I didn't get to eat any of that good stuff.

In case you need a closer look at my Waldo/Elf costume...

On Christmas morning, after sleeping in late, we went to Aunt Tami's house.  Grandpa John was there, and my cousin Matthew.  Aunt Tami smothered me with big, wet kisses.
I fought back by pulling her hair. Meanwhile, Mom was getting sentimental with Grandpa.
Afterwards we drove a few miles over to Grandma Susan's and Grandpa Michael's house.  Dinner was great, and I tasted all my gifts, even the wrappings!

Today, Aunt Becky and my cousins, Dylan and Madelyn, stopped by our house to exchange gifts.  I love Christmas!
A million thanks to everyone for making my first Christmas so special.

I can roll over

I rolled over for the first time today! I could have done it anytime I wanted I'm sure. I like to make my Mommy and Daddy wait so they are even more excited. I was laying on my belly and there was a toy that was just out of my reach and I had to have it. I wanted to put it in my mouth. So I reached and streched until I had rolled over onto my back and I had my toy. I made rolling over look so easy. Mommy and Daddy were so proud of me. Here is a picture of my new play gym that I was laying in when I rolled over. I love to try to reach for all the toys on it. I think it will help me perfect the art of rolling over.

Sledding with my Daddy

On Sunday I went to my first Christmas party, up at my Grandma & Grandpa Keesen's house. They have a pretty log cabin in the mountains with a pond that is frozen over. My big brother and sister and all my cousins were ice skating. I'm not big enough to ice skate yet, but my daddy thought of the great idea to let me sled. Of course my Grammy had a sled that was just the right size for me, it even had a seat belt. Mommy was very nervous and wouldn't let Daddy pull me fast at all. I didn't know what to think of all the pretty trees and the cold ice zooming past me. I kept looking around taking it all in. I hope my Mommy lets me do it again someday.

My Aunt Becky bought me my new puppy dog hat, so I can look just like my puppy dogs. It was the first present that I got to open so my head would be nice and warm while I was sledding.

Joy to the World

This is a picture of me when I was just a couple weeks old.  Today I went to the doctor and received four shots!  I weigh 18 pounds 4 ounces now!  The doctor says I may grow up to be an inch or two shy of six feet tall!  Below are a couple of pictures taken in the past few days.  I've certainly filled out, if I do say so myself.  Positively voluptuous.  Dad even tried feeding me some rice meal, but I'm not sold on the idea.

Well that's all for today.  See you next time, Love,
Marie

A Visit to Great Grammy's House

Today I went to my Great Grandma Helen and Great Grandpa Tom's house with my mommy and daddy.  My great uncle Jere and my great aunt Marcy were there too.  They loved how I smiled at them and how I chewed on my pointer finger.  I even showed how I can lift my feet like I am already walking.  Everyone teased daddy and mommy that soon they won't be able to catch me and they will want to put weights on my legs.  I was such a good baby and didn't cry until my great grammy left the room cause I wanted her to come back.  When I got home for the day I jumped in my jumper and stared at the pretty lights on my christmas tree.  I can jump really fast now, it almost makes me laugh.
Also, daddy started a 529 college investment fund for me.  It's a CollegeInvest Direct Portfolio College Savings 529 Plan.  If you want to contribute, you may send mom and dad a check payable to:  CollegeInvest Direct Portfolio College Savings Plan, account number 512933350-01.  Mom and dad will mail it in, or you can mail it directly to:

Onesey? Onesie? Won-zee?

Today was like most Mondays for me, starting early in the morning when mom and Jack and Natalie and I piled into the car to get to school in Littleton.  After dropping off the older siblibgs, mom and I went over to Aunt Tami's house.  There are all sorts of toys at Aunt Tami's, but even so, she opened a couple of my Christmas presents for me to enjoy early.  Later, back in Aurora, we all went to dinner at Freddy's Steakburgers with dad.  I can't wait to eat one!  When we got home, I got to try rice meal for the first time.  I liked it, and I'm excited to try more foods.  Also we got a jumper set up so I can practice standing, here is a picture!
Take care everyone!

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum

This is what dad's left hand looked like before the accident.

On Thursday my dad fell at work and cut his arm on a broken ceramic pot!  The cut was very deep, severing nerves, muscle, tendons, and an important artery.  He went to the ER by ambulance to have the wound stabilized, then went home to rest until the next morning, when the hand surgeon would be available.  Mom and I took care of him, but by 11pm he couldn't stay home any longer and we drove him back to the hospital.  The doctors had sent him home without pain medication, telling him instead to go to Walgreens.  If the pain was too much he should come back, they said.  However they didn't mention that we would have to wait three hours at the ER to get medication and a bed.  Dad sure was sorry that he didn't insist on being admitted earlier in the day!  But I enjoyed waiting in the ER with dad and mom for three hours, I didn't complain at all!  My dad was grateful for my company as well.  His surgery went well and now he's at home, resting, and helping me blog.

All wrapped up, thanks to Denver Health.

Hello!

So I was chewing on my fingers the other day, watching my Dad use the computer to send emails and read news articles, and I thought to myself, "That looks fun!"  So I asked, "Dad, can I use the computer too?"  He replied that maybe I would enjoy publishing my thoughts and photographs to an online journal.  The result is "Baby's First Blog," a place just for me to show off to my family and friends.  I hope you all enjoy it.

Here I'm sitting with my friend Sundae!  I love to feel her velvety soft ears, and pet her nose.
This easy chair is so comfortable, and a good place to watch Mom cook dinner.
You'd smile like this too, if you were wrapped up this well.
I'm sleepy, so that's all for now!  See you next time.
